He Arose!

Happy Easter! Christ Arose is my son Kyle's favorite hymn so you can imagine his little grin in church today on Resurrection Sunday. It is a great song!  And wow what a beautiful day it was today! The sun was shining, the grass was sooo green, the birds were chirpin! After all this yukky weather we've been having it was defenitely a nice switch, yes? Even more exciting was that it was one of the most important days of the year for us! Jesus Christ our savior is risen! (Luke 24;6, 34). As a mother, I always think about Marys point of view when this was happening. After giving birth to this amazing being, seeing him grow up, knowing he was special, knowing he was here for a specific reason, knowing he was different. Living your life to protect him and to be the best mother you could be, I mean hello, this is Gods only begotten son...no pressure, right? John 3:16 ;) Knowing he was sent to fulfill a purpose. Then one night she learns that he had been arrested for not really any solid reason other than who he said he was...I mean seriously, these people just welcomed Jesus into town a week prior with a huge greeting, celebration in the street, laying down of the palms... He knew though. He already knew the darkness of the heart of man. It says that when he approached the city, he wept over it. Luke 19:41. He actually started to weep.  The thought of him weeping makes me want to weep.  Because he knew after all of the palms were going to be laid down, all of the celebrations of the kings coming that was foretold,  all of the miracles he was about to perform, all of the teachings he was going to share, he was still going to be rejected. The bible says that, "He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him." John 1: 10 & 11. (Also check out Isaiah 53:3). Isnt that sad? But ya know what? There was still hope. The hope. Jesus was not just some ordinary man, he was God incarnate! He was Gods son! He could do anything! (Imagine, he went his whole life without sinning once!) And when all of those big shot law making priests got their robes in a tizzy and arrested, tortured, and crucified Jesus they thought they had won. Satan thought he had won. But in the end, Satan lost. Big time. By Jesus never sinning and never giving up and by resisting temptation and being the amazing powerful being that he is, we have a victory! A resurrection!  We have a saviour that loves us and died for us to give us salvation and make a way for us to be with him forever and its a free gift of Gods grace. Totally free, all we have to do is accept it. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8 & 9. In other words, people do not get to heaven because they think they are "good people" or because they go to church every Sunday or how much money they throw into the offering plate or how many repetetive prayers they say. They get to heaven because they have accepted what Christ did for them on the cross and they have accepted him as their saviour. Jesus said "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Sooo that's what Im going to put my faith in. 100%. I hope you do too!

There were a million things I wanted to include in this post but it took sooo many turns and I could talk about the Lord for hours, so Im sorry if it sounded like I was rambling. Soo Ill close with one of my favorite verses;

If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. Luke 9:23.

Love you all, good night!
xoxo Rah
