Mine Would Be You

Good morning and happy Sunday! What a beautiful day! Have you heard the new Blake Shelton song "Mine Would Be You?" I just love it! It talks about all the things you love about someone, all of the little details that make your relationship so special. My favorite line is "What's the greatest chapter in your book?" When I heard that I immediately thought of my boys. And cried. And cried. They are the most amazing creatures, the greatest gift the Lord could have ever blessed me with. Everyday with them has been an adventure. They have completely filled my life, my whole heart. We have been through some really tough and trying times! I believe that those are the times in our lives that bring us closer to one another, building these strong ties that bind us together. And you know what? When I think of all of these struggles that we have been through? They are some of the greatest times of my life. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

So here is my layout that is up on the Marion Smith Design's blog today. I used the stunning new collection Mad Tea Party! I loved this collection right when I saw it, the colors are so pretty and the roses and ohmygoodness how I love Alice in Wonderland!! One of my faves ever.

 

For my journaling spot, I created it using Marion's new stamp sets! I combined the alphabet set "Typography" and another set called "Serendipity" that has a mixture of line breaks and other elements so you can create your own chalk style art and things like that!

 

I was scared at first, but I just grabbed a scratch sheet of paper and started to play and I was ok after that. It was actually lots of fun! Yes some of it is crooked, but I like to think that's what gives it that charm........right?? Maybe?? A little??

 

To go along with my book and chapter theme I wanted to use some book paper, but also wanted it pink sooo I sprayed it down with the new Blush Color Shine by Heidi Swapp! This is my favorite new color of hers, you could say I'm a little addicted.. The old paper took it like a champ and is very shimmery and beautiful!

 

Lots of layering and tucking;

 

Another stamp technique I used was heat embossing. I love doing this! You can call me a nerd or whatev but everytime I heat emboss something I'm like "WOW IS THIS MAGIC?!"   I might even squeal a little. Don't judge. I used light pink powder and an adorable dainty new butterfly stamp that Marion has, then just fussy cut around the stamped image. Super cute and easy embellishment!

Shipshewana Part One

Oh my goodness, is it a scorcher today! I love summer but wowzas! I want to share some pics with you of our trip to Shipshewana, but there's tons so I have to do it in sections lol! My computer is seriously messed up right now and it takes a half hour for a blog post to save and publish sooo I have to do short posts sorry.. 

So Shipshewana is a little town in Indiana that is based in an amish area. It has a ton of adorable shops, some restaurants, and a HUGE flea market on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. Today I want to feature an adorable little coffee shop called;

How cute is that cross on the mug?! Love it! You walk in and the most wonderful aroma hangs thick in the air;

Can I just tell you how difficult it is to pick something to order when there are so many delicious options?

Let me introduce you to the owner Lynn;

She is the sweetest lady, I just love her! How cute is she?! Totally understanding when I asked her to strike a pose ;) She made me the most delicious blended concoction of vanilla bean, mocha. and banana oh my goodness... So good. I will defenitely be back.

By the way, this little piece of heaven is for sale! (The shop, not Lynn lol) If you know anyone who is looking for an awesome little coffee shop, this is the place! Morton Street Coffee woohoo! I wish I could buy it I totally would.

Seeing Spots

TGIF wooohooo! Soo guess what?! Yesterday was my birthday, and I am so thankful to celebrate being alive for another year! The Lord blessed me with some amazing gifts- seven to be exact;

Aren't they beautiful? Spots as far as the eye can see lol! My Taloula the Catahoula had little puppies! One is cuter than the next! I am so proud of her, she is an amazing mama.

Okay now Im going to post this next picture, but it is so cute I don't think you'll be able to handle the cuteness. So prepare yourself. Ok. Ready?

 Wasn't this like the best gift ever?! I am so thankful everything went well and everyones healthy and stinky and all that ;) The next few weeks are going to be crraazzyyy!! K I'm gonna go tend to my little fuzz buns now, and maybe even do some snugglin...

Hey my lovelies! Today is a very big day for my son Kyle, he turned the big 13! Oh my goodness do I really have a teenager?! That is so crazy. I am so blessed to have such an amazing boy in my life. He has the funniest sarcastic sense of humor (wonder where he gets that?) and makes me belly laugh every day. He has a Pacman frog named Clint Eastwood. Clint Eastwood. He'll say "Ma would you mind checking on Clint when I'm gone?" I'm like who the heck is Clint?! lol

My dearest Kyle, I love you with all of my heart. I love how wholesome and genuine you are. You are a true patriot that loves your country, you love the Lord, and you're an amazing baseball player. You are the sweetest down to earth kid, but when you are catching in a game, you own that field. You're a natural. (Except the other night when you threw down to 2nd to get the stealer out and you pegged him in the back. I know I said throw down to the right side of 2nd because that's where the runner is but i didn't mean take him out, jeez ;)) Even though you're 13, I'm still going to tell you that you look like Optimus Prime in your catchers gear. Even though you're 13, I'm still going to wake you up in the morning by kissing you all over your little face. No matter how old you are, you will always be one of the greatest blessings in my life, and I would fight for you. Even when I'm old in my  jacked-up-nitrus-powered-wheelchair that I'm sure you will custom build for me, I would totally run someone over if they messed with you. I will go "all gangstuh" on them. You will see the mama with the "mean eyebrows." OH YEAH. They better watch it.

Palm Sunday

Hey good evening! Happy Palm Sunday! I am so sad that I didn't get to church today, I worked nights last night sooo I was sleeping all morning :( But Im back on my regular schedule tomorrow so that's good! I lovvvee Easter time, being that I'm a Chrisian girl this whole week has always been so special to me. Especially with Spring being here and it's beautiful and green outside, flowers are budding, there's new life everywhere! It feels like I can breathe again, do you ever feel like that? When I woke up today it looked so beautiful outside, I couldn't help but grab my camera and head outdoors. I took these pics and, now, this is when I wish I could be an awesome "photoshopper" because if I added that dreamlike effect to these, they would be stunning! From my darling apple trees;

And my gorrrgeous lilacs, wow do I miss these all year!!

Wouldn't it be cool to add some sort of text over the blue sky? Ahh yes. But ya know what? Photoshop or not, God does a pretty amazing job on his own I'd say ;)

Key Lime Cove

Hey peeps! Phew am I pooped! I decided to take the dudes on a little getaway to this indoor waterpark called Key Lime Cove. We had sooo much fun! It's funny because Im thinking "yeah we'll go in March cuz it'll be cold  and yucky still.." Sooo the weather here yesterday was 80 and sunny. What's goin on?! That's ok though, we had a blast. It really is an awesome place! When you walk in it's like walking into a little beachy town or something.

Isn't this place cool?! Those colors are so beautiful and inspiring! Now I want to do a brightly painted bathroom I think it'd be so cheerful.  So I took a ton of pics but just posted a few of course, I haven't even shown the waterpark yet, haha! Where are some cool places you've visited? Any plans for spring break? Ill pretty much be workin through the whole thing sooo that's cool. (blagh)

The Rialto

Hey peeps! I recently visited one of my favorite places in the world, and I want to share it with you! It's called The Rialto Square Theatre. When I was little we took many a field trips there, and ever since I can remember I have been absolutely mesmerized by the beauty of this place. It is because of my visits here as a child that I am now obsessed with chandeliers. ;) As soon as I walk into this place, my body is consumed with chills.  It's just so beautiful and nostalgic, and you can just feel that there is so much history here. I cant even begin to describe it, but here are some pictures to give you the general idea. By no means will they give the theatre any justice!

Isnt it breathtakingly beautiful?! I love it! I am so thankful to be able to live near a place like this, I dont know why I dont visit more often? Weeiirrrddd.  So I hope you enjoyed my little tour of one of my favorite most magical places in the world.

Can't you just imagine the people pulling up front here, back in the 20's? All dressed up with their suits and dresses and old cars and fancy hats and sparkly broaches?! Do you ever feel like you were born in the wrong era haha ;)
