Happy Halloween!

Hey there! Can you believe it's Halloween already? Where has this year gone? I must admit, I havent been in the Halloween spirit this year. I didnt put up any decorations or anything. But, there is a good reason for this.  We have been shopping for paint colors lately because all of the walls in our new old home are stark white. I cant wait to get some color up in here! Sooo that means if I wanna deck this place out for Christmas, we had better get crackin! I had this plan to post a variety of different pix from Halloweens past, but I changed my mind. Do you ever come across a picture, and all of your childhood memories from that time come flooding into your mind? Well, this is what just happened to me. As I was thumbing through my old pics, seeing all of these awesome costumes and parties from past years, treats, decorations, I decided to just use this one. I dont know what it is, but when I look at it, I get emotional. It's not a good picture, but I know that it's my mom behind the camera,  smiling at me because she knew I was so proud of my pumpkin. It's not great lighting, but I know that it's the warm morning sunlight shining on my face. I get this kind of sadness as all of these Halloween memories go through my mind.  I can remember my mom, sitting for hours at the sewing machine, making sure my costumes looked perfect, every detail in place. I can remember her filling the house with delicious aromas coming from the oven, and then carefully placing the sprinkles on the homemade treats for our school parties, individually wrapping them with curly ribbon so every child felt like they got something special. I can remember every trip to the pumpkin farm, and every pumpkin we carved together. I remember her proudly waving and smiling on the side of the road as the Bruning School Costume Parade marched on by, each child believing that they had the BEST costume of anyone. It is so amazing that now, since she was such a wonderful mother , those are the things I enjoy doing for my kids, passing on those little details that make life so memorable, so special. I am so thankful for the time Ive gotten to spend with her, all those years. So thank you mom for all of the little details, they havent been and will never be forgotten!

Mama Tired...Need Sleepy...

Do you ever feel like you could sleep for two weeks straight if you only had the chance? That's about how I feel right now. Im on the night shift for awhile (hence why there's only one post with scrappiness) & I just cant seem to get used to it! I am really thankful for the chance to make some extra Christmas cash though, for sure! It seems like money is always tight these days, so any extra is such a blessing. My poor little Taloula the Catahoula, just can't seem to get any rest. She is just really stressed out, Im gettin kinda worried....

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28

I loooovvveeee this verse! I "stumbled" upon it at such a perfect time! It's amazing how sometimes when you have a problem or you're going through a trial, the Lord will help you and show you exactly what you need to do. Even if it's something as simple as rest. He's there, all you have to do is ask!!

The Windy City

Whoa. Soooo much craziness this morning. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a good storm, but when your trees are bending over and tornado warnings are popping up all around you? Hello. Here's a pic of a storm goin over the mountains in AZ. So beautiful!
Happy Tuesday!

Beautiful Day!

Wow what a gorgeous day! I love the fall, but I must say that I'm dreading the cold weather. Im just not a wind-chill kinda gal I guess. Maybe one day I can relocate....maybe south...if you could work on that for me that'd be greeeaaatttt. One thing I already miss about summer is puttzin around my garden, watching the butterflys fluttering about, the bees happily buzzin around doin what they do. Not that the garden isnt beautiful now in all of its brown crunchiness, but ya know. Zinnias & hollyhocks really make me happy.  So heres a few pix of one of my happy places, proof that God is so amazing & that he loves us.

God saw all that He had made, and it was very good.
Genesis 1:31

Yep. Ill go with that. Happy Monday!

Is this thing on??

Hello & Welcome! This is my first post ever woo hoo! I'm blogging baby! Okay, now. I am going to try my hardest to post everyday, but Im not making any promises, sister. But what I can promise is that it's going to be interesting, & I hope you'll join me!

Sooo since this blog is gonna be based around ALOT of my artsy fartsyness, it would only be right that I include a fun little project I whipped out the other day. I have had these adorable chipboard leaves  from Maya Road sitting on my table staring at me for some time now, & I needed to finish something quickly so I decided to make them into a garland. Tattered Angels glimmer mist looks fabulous on chipboard! I used Coffee Shop, English Ive, and Pumpkin Pie. I added some detail with the Tattered Angels clear stamps, & I can honestly say that I am HOOKED. They add so much texture I love it! Very fall-esque.

Have an amazing Sunday!
