Christmas Cards

Happy Monday! Soo I was off today (halleluja!) & had some time to create a few cards. I really love the new BoBunny Christmas Paper, it's so beautiful! My favorite is the holly paper, I looovve holly! I found that K&Companys new Christmas line at Michaels goes really well with it, which is another gorgeous line. Also thrown in the mix are some other products by Tim Holtz, Prima, Stampin Up, & Red Lead.

I love jingle bells on cards! So fun! Thanks for peeking!

Ninjas & Icing

Happy Sunday! What an amazing weekend  filled with fun Christmas goodness! I am pooped! The boys' had their Christmas program this morning at church (which they rocked!) They are a laugh a minute! After that we went for lunch at White Fence Farm in Romeoville. It was sooo yummy! I could seriously live on their corn fritters. Really. They are like little fluffy sweet heaven pillows. Buttttt that wasnt enough sweetness for us today, we went home and made some of these little guys.
I have been wanting to do this for a long time and we finally got time today. We had so much fun! It doesnt matter how good they look or if they look like they got ran over by a sleigh, what matters is that we spent time together in the kitchen laughing and having a great time together, right?

Ugh. A mountain of m&ms and icing, sprinkles and broken gingerbread limbs. We had soo much fun! I have a feeling its a new tradition for us, though I dont know how we are going to be able to top these guys;

snazzy speedough; (Get it? Speedo? Ha! I'll be here all week folks!)

And my personal best, my ninja, complete with angry eyebrows.

Whoa.

Peace! Im out.

O Christmas Tree

Hey there! Just a quick post to share a few cutesy ornaments that I love, Im super tired. Mondays at work are crazy! There are so many ornaments that I love, I cant put them all on here of course, so Ill just show a few that made me smile. Ive always loved gingerbread houses ever since I was little, sooo when Hallmark came out with their series of them a few years ago I flipped! They are so colorful and detailed! I missed the first year though so I only have 2 so far, hopefully Ill get this years as a gift....wink wink.....mom are you reading this?...
The next one is soooo adorable, my "mom" ornament from last year. You cant really tell but she's sparkly. Annndddd made out of strawberries and chocolate. If I was an ornament I would probably be this gal right here...

 This poor old girl and I go way back.

Okay now, do you see a pattern here? Sweets? Hello.
Ok Ok we can switch it up a bit.
I think snowflakes are just beautiful!

Sleep tight!

How Lovely Are Your Branches

This weekend flew by! I can't believe we are almost into the 2nd week of December. We finally got to put up the tree today. This is such a great tradition! I like to make it special by having a festive dessert, playing some Christmas tunes, and getting the whole family involved. First, we lay all of the ornaments out onto the couch and look at them. I love this because each one has its own story, and I love hearing them every year. Like "I made this when I was in 3rd grade" or "Gramma got me this." It makes me feel good that I know the boys will grow up and remember this and hopefully do the same thing with their families. The tree in the living room is just a traditional tree with white lights and a total jumble of ornaments, not at all matching. I think these kind of trees are so much more interesting to look at.  However, sometimes I do like things to match.....soooooo that's why you have more than one tree, right? Right! Im going to try to get my tree up tomorrow in the dining room, it's going to be a little more matchy and artsy so it should be fun. Im going to use some silvery sparkly goodness;

It should be so pretty! Tomorrow I will show some of my favorite ornaments that Ive collected throughout the years. Have a wonderful Sunday evening. Good night!

25 Days of December

Happy Thursday! I have been so neglective to my poor blog! I've been spending my evenings painting. We just did the living room, and tonight the dining room is gettin it. I wanted to get it all done before the weekend so I can deck my halls. I have some really cute ideas up my sleeve....

Soooo,  I wanted to document all of the little details that make up this wonderful time of year in a daily journal. I love all of the fun little bits of ephemera you collect along the way!
Red & green are one of my favorite color combos-I love it! Strawberries, cherries, roses, Christmas, so pretty!
I am totally hooked on the bracket shape, Im not sure the word for it...But anyway I bought a few packs of the Melissa Frances chipboard pieces in this shape, and I have been using them on everything! It's crazy! They make the cutest wall hangings too. I just love designing covers on mini albums & journals, it's defenitely one of my favorite things to create! I cant wait to make this album big & chunky with Christmas goodies... So here are some products I used;

printed paper & trims; Tinsel & Twig from The Girls Paperie
thickers; American Crafts
stickles; Ranger
stickers; October Afternoon
tinsel; Stampin Up
holly sprig; Red Lead
crepe & glimmer mist; Tattered Angels

Thanks for stoppin by! Have a beautiful evening!
