Honeycomb

Nooonooo not the cereal silly, the pattern! I'm sure you've noticed that the hexagon-honeycomb pattern is all the rage now, yes? Well over at the Create Blog they have a new challenge going and it's to use this hexagonlike pattern. Though I didn't have a punch or stamp with this shape, I did have the delicious new MME honeycomb paper from the "Follow Your Heart" line, so I decided to use that. It is so pretty and springy, I just felt the urge to have a birdcage on it...

I know I should've put some grungeboard or chipboard underneath my little feathered friend because there's kind of a lump now, but I thought the glittery paper was going to be thick enough buuutttt it wasnt, and Im sorry. Im an idiot.  This will bug me forever that I didn't fix it buttttt Im trying to teach myself to just let it go. Let it go. Say it with me ladies; LET IT GO... Ok we're better now, moving on ;)

Oh my gosh Im so addicted to this beaded trim! I love layering on top of the ribbon part it looks so pretty! I got this pale greeny colored one at JoAnns, but I've seen it at Michaels too. Be careful. You're going to love it. These gorgeous photo corners at the top are Recollections from Michaels as well, aren't they pretty?!

So you should go play along, break out those hexagons! If you know of any hexagon punches let me know, I haven't seen any...

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!

Uninked Stamps

Hey peeps! How are you all on this glorious spring day?! I am so excited that all of my perennials are coming up!! That is such an awesome thing to see after winter isn't it?

Over at the Use It Tuesday Challenge Bog they have a new challenge going, it's a challenge to use an Un-inked Stamp. Wow was this a wake up call! I have tonnnsssss of un-inked stamps lol how did this happen?! I've had these real dainty butterfly stamps by Martha Stewart that I've been dyin to use with white heat embossing powder. The stamps have so much detail in them I love it! I love the white powder on richly colored paper, it's an amazing contrast.

Have you seen these little felt bows by Prima? They are sooo cute and just the right amount of added oomph to a lonely ole corner ;)

 I kind of wanted it to look like the butterflies were "fluttering" across the page, and Im not sure if I achieved that, but Im glad I used more than just 1 of the stamps. Now ladies, there are no rules while creating, so if you have a stamp set that you adore, and there's more than 1 stamp in the set that you love, by all means use them! Dont be scared ;) Sometimes when you group the same type of thing together in a cluster or group it packs a powerful punch. So go get in your stash, pick something out that-at-one-time-you-just-had-to-have, and get it dirty!!

Go check out the Use It Tuesday Blog to see what the fabulous DT has made for some inspiration!! Thanks for hangin!!

Key Lime Cove

Hey peeps! Phew am I pooped! I decided to take the dudes on a little getaway to this indoor waterpark called Key Lime Cove. We had sooo much fun! It's funny because Im thinking "yeah we'll go in March cuz it'll be cold  and yucky still.." Sooo the weather here yesterday was 80 and sunny. What's goin on?! That's ok though, we had a blast. It really is an awesome place! When you walk in it's like walking into a little beachy town or something.

Isn't this place cool?! Those colors are so beautiful and inspiring! Now I want to do a brightly painted bathroom I think it'd be so cheerful.  So I took a ton of pics but just posted a few of course, I haven't even shown the waterpark yet, haha! Where are some cool places you've visited? Any plans for spring break? Ill pretty much be workin through the whole thing sooo that's cool. (blagh)

Thanks for stopping by! Love y'all!

Pixie Dust March Challenge

Hey peeps! What a beautiful Saturday! I went to Ikea today, and all I can say is...woah. Thanks to them, I now have a gazillion ideas running through my mind!! Plus it smelled like cinnamon rolls which made the experience that much more enjoyable ;) So over at the Pixie Dust Paperie Blog, there is a new challenge, a sketch challenge this time! I love these! They are a challenge, but takes the stress out of designing a page. Here's the sketch;

 I cannot get the picture of the sketch to not be blurry?! Weeiirrrdd...So here's my fun little layout based on the sketch;

I used the line by Echo Park, "This & That." It is sooo cute and perfect for the feeling I wanted to convey using this picture. The flower in the center is Dear Lizzy by American Crafts, kraft envelope by Maya Road.

This is a picture of my Kyle & I. It was a beautiful summer day, and we were out exploring on our bikes, and Im so thankful for this picture. Even though I hate pics of myself, (especially this one because Im pressing my arm against my body so it looks fat), it's so important that we get over that, and focus on how important it is to get on the other side of that lens! I adore Kyle and he's growing sooo fast so I dont want to forget special days like this, special mother-son moments.  It's kind of hard to lug my camera on these adventures because I dont have a basket on my pink Schwinn yet, but it's so worth it! I think us scrapbookers need to remember why it is that we take pictures. It's so easy to get lost in the gorgeous supplies and papers and trims etc., that sometimes we need to remind ourselves the real reason we take pictures. Well, what is a picture? It is a single moment in time that is recorded. Just one second out of the thousands and thousands that kind of flow together to make our weeks and months and years just fly right on by. In a complete daze sometimes! We need to sllloooww down and be present in our lives. Just be.

So get on over to The Pixie Dust Paperie Blog and join in the fun! Find one of your favorite pics and scrap it! Dont be skeered! Winner gets a $15.00 dollar gift certificate at their shop woohoo! You have until the 31st...reaaaddyyy..go!

Love you all!
