Cutest Little Farmer

Haayyyy! How are you on this beautiful day? Lately I've really been noticing some changing in my boys, they're really starting to grow into their own. Really growin up. Every time Kyle  (12 yrs.) walks into the room, I point out to him that his shoulders are getting broad & he's starting to get "pecks." Sooo now he flexes his new found manlihood. Alot. Im like fine but if I find 1 hair on that chest Im yankin it out!!  I have such mixed feelings about this!? It makes me so sad to think about them not bein chubby little boys galloping around, wreaking havoc, slipping their dirty & sweaty little chubby hands into mine. Where did the time go? I always try to thumb through old pictures at least once a week. I dont think scrapbooking should be just about "events," it should also be about the special emotions  you feel and everyday moments you share with the ones that tug on your heartstrings the most. I found this picture of the dudes in a garden, tryin to help with the harvest. Ok, trying to find very large and heavy projectiles but whatever. I didn't photocopy it (gassspp!), I just had to use it right then and there. I wasn't even planning on doing this type of page but it literally just flowed out of me! So I grabbed some Walnut Distress Ink, new October Afternoon Farmhouse products, and new Prima flowers and got busy..

If you'll notice in the background of the picture on the left, that's Beeb, sporting a fabulous t-shirt from the Thomas the Train collection and would you just check out those chubby little legs?! Ugh! I would be lying if I said I never chewed on them lol! I had to be careful in my design because I absolutely could never cover that part of the picture up. Make sure you always pay attention to what's in the background!

This pic makes my heart melt.

The two glorious flowers on the left are Prima, the burlap beauty is Maya Road, fabulous foliage stems by Petaloo.

Banner pieces are Maya Road, sprayed with Meadow Green Glimmer Mist, stamped with Recollection letters (my fave alphabet)

Envelope is Maya Road, doily fussy cuts from Crate Paper, and veggie die cuts are October Afternoon Miscellany.

The scalloped chipboard backing is Melissa Frances, globbed with Tim Holtz crackle paint.

So there ya have it. It's ok to scrapbook chronologically and holidays and things of that nature, just please make sure you create with the photos that are closest to your heart, because you just never know.

Love, Sarah

April Showers

Happy Tuesday! I have a card to share with you today, it's for the new challenge over at Use It Tuesday. I love being a part of this design team! It forces me to dig through my evergrowing stash of delicious goodies that I just "had to have" at one point (ha!), and I think that's brilliant! The theme was April Showers Bring May Flowers, and here's what I did;

Just kept it light and fun, super springy! From my stash I used my chocolatey brown spring Dear Lizzy paper which I would really love to buy some more of, if you see it let me know? Also this chipboard cloud by October Afternoon, with which I tried to simulate the "rain effect" down onto the flowers with aqua bakers twine and Stickles...don't know if it actually worked but what the hey, you gotta try new things sometimes, yes?

I do believe this yellow trim by American Crafts has been hanging out in my stash for awhile too, but this pink blossom is new from Prima. I have a new found love for felt flowers, I think they're soo stinkin cute!

The patterned paper with the darling umbrellas is Jillibean Soup. I think it should be a rule that if you make paper with cute umbrellas you have to sell the cute umbrella along with it...

Photo courtesy of Anne Taintor.

Do you ever feel like that? Me too about every day lol!

So go dig something springy out of that stash of yours! Make sure you play along and grab some inspiration from the awesome design team over there!

Ciao!!

Fly Away With Me To AZ

Happy Monday! Did you all have a wonderful Easter? I did, it's always fun getting family together. Well, maybe not always fun, but defenitely interesting ;) I love spending time with my mom, we are always so busy we don't get to see each other as often as I'd like. So when she got to fly to Arizona with me for Creative Escape in 2010, it was kind of huge for us! Out of the whole amazing unforgettable weekend there, we only got one picture taken of us together, right before we left. I'm sooooo thankful for that picture! I decided to use it for the new challenge over at The PixieDust Paperie Blog. The theme is "Fly Away With Me." Hence the title of my page, "Fly Away With Me To AZ." Hope you like it!

These colors are absolutely delicious aren't they?!

I can't even tell you how many emotions were going thru me at that moment. It was an incredible weekend, one I will never forget. I'm so thankful I got to share it with my mom.

Super fun! So you should defenitely get on over there and play along, I know you have some favorite vacay pictures somewhere! The challenge winner gets a $15.00 gift certificate to the Pixie Shop! Have an amazing day!! Thanks for hangin out!!

For Peeps Sake!

Hey darlings how are you?! Are you all ready for Easter? (I can't believe it's that time already, I'm still getting over Christmas haha!! This year is flying.) To me, Easter is way more than just the eggs and chocolate bunnies and so forth, but I can't help but love all of the pastel colors and cute decorations! If you're looking to be inspired to make some Easter cards, "hop" on over to The Create Blog, they have a TON of cute cards in their gallery!! I used some new Jillibean Soup products, and some old ones actually from my stash so I'm pretty stoked about that heehee!

I bet you can't tell I never get tired of layering my goodies lol! I can't help it. It's so hard to pick and choose sometimes with all of these cute die cuts, what's a girl to do? Grab a pop dot that's what sister. Don't judge. Aren't those little chickies cute?! All I did was just dab a little yellow Stickles on them and voila.  Get busy girlfriend.

Have an amaaazzingg evening and thank you everyone for your sweet comments! It's nice to know you're out there :)

Life With You Is Sweet

Hello there! How are you doing on this bright and beautiful Monday?! Did you get any creative time this weekend? I got just a teeny bit done. I've had this picture of my son Kyle from a few years ago that I haven't scrapped yet because it's seriously one of my fave pics of him ever.  (Do you have pictures like that? The ones you cant scrap because they mean so much to you? Oh yeah sister.  I call them the "Untouchables" Write that down-that's good stuff) I could do a different layout over and over with this picture for a million different reasons. It's just a shot of him sitting at the kitchen table doing homework, trying so hard to concentrate, and I kept making him giggle so he couldn't. His smile is so genuine and "him," I just love it.  I love the way a picture can have such an amazing impact on your emotions, isn't that awesome? Well, over at the Two Peas In A Bucket website they have a challenge going on to use the new American Crafts Dear Lizzy products. It's such a fun cute line and I just happened to have some in my stash (gee how did that happen haha!). Soo I decided to play along and use the fave pic I was talking about. And you know what? I realized that no  scrapbook page could ever really portray my love for this kid, but it's better than the picture just sitting in a box right? Right. Plus I absolutely adore strawberries too! So here we go, here's my fun lovin page;

This is a hidden journaling tag that you can pull out. I know. That's a little something I like to callll, hardcore. I mean this is serious stuff.

Ugh look at that face. Love. It. Did I mention that Kyle's a manly-man and I'm sure he's going to love being on a page covered in pink strawberries hahahaha! That's a little something I like to calll, blackmail. No just kidding! But seriously.

So there ya have it, I hope yall like it! It really was a fun page, these products are adorable! I can't wait to make a layout with the ice cream cones paper ;) I threw in some die cut vines and a glittery white chipboard word, but mostly its all just Dear Lizzy stuff. Thank you so much for hangin out, and go get those favorite "untouchables" out and scrap em baby!

xoxo Rah

Palm Sunday

Hey good evening! Happy Palm Sunday! I am so sad that I didn't get to church today, I worked nights last night sooo I was sleeping all morning :( But Im back on my regular schedule tomorrow so that's good! I lovvvee Easter time, being that I'm a Chrisian girl this whole week has always been so special to me. Especially with Spring being here and it's beautiful and green outside, flowers are budding, there's new life everywhere! It feels like I can breathe again, do you ever feel like that? When I woke up today it looked so beautiful outside, I couldn't help but grab my camera and head outdoors. I took these pics and, now, this is when I wish I could be an awesome "photoshopper" because if I added that dreamlike effect to these, they would be stunning! From my darling apple trees;

And my gorrrgeous lilacs, wow do I miss these all year!!

Wouldn't it be cool to add some sort of text over the blue sky? Ahh yes. But ya know what? Photoshop or not, God does a pretty amazing job on his own I'd say ;)

Thanks for stoppin in loves!

xoxo Rah
