Snow Day!!

Hey there! How are you on this glorious Sunday?! My poor little guy is sickie today so we missed church, I swear every person I know has some sort of sickness right now, even if it's just a cold! Ahh tis the season ;) So I have a fun project to share with you today! I bought this really cute picture frame from Kohl's at the beginning of the shopping season, it's covered in white jingle bells and dusted with a layer of sugar coating. (glitter. love.) I was saving it for something, I don't know what, and it dawned on me how cute it would be with a mini album attached to the front of it?! I have the new "Bundled Up" collection by Crate Paper, have you seen it? The colors are delish. Super cute! I thought that'd be perfect for a festive little album! I printed out some pics of my boys having a ball out in our yard after a huge snow, and this is what I came out with. Hope you likey ;)

Isn't that fun? It all came together really fast too! I wanted to make something simple and cute, just to get the memories documented, that is the real reason we scrap right? Woohoo! All you do is get a binding mechanism, like this one is a Tim Holtz one, and fill it with memories, then glue it into your frame. That's it!  I can't wait to put it out for people to enjoy. I think it is so cool to have little albums sprinkled throughout the house to look at! Memories are better when they are shared.

Thanks for hangin out and go dig through your stash for an old picture frame that you can alter! It is so much fun!

Peace!

Hey hi! It was my turn on the Marion Smith Designs blog yesterday, and I wanted to share this card with you! I used the Mad Tea Party and Nirvana Collections to come up with a Christmas card!

I also used this beautiful reindeer die by Sizzix, and it looks fancy because I used gold glitter paper, I love it!

I also used a Color Magic Frame with Seafoam Color Shine by Heidi Swapp, a metal frame and word sticker by Tim Holtz, a banner die cut by Spellbinders, and some other doo dads ;)

I just love mint green so much! I'm sure you cant tell...

This could almost pass for just a wintery card maybe? A card can be super simple and still be elegant, just layer layer layer! Put a bunch of pieces in front of you on your workspace and just move them around until you like what you see! That's my big creative advice for you today, gosh I hope I wasn't too technical for you lol! Just kiddin.

Have a wonderful evening and go make something fancy!

Joy

Happy Monday! It is the season of giving and I love making homemade gifts! If you're looking for a quick handmade gift for someone but can't spend a lot of money, grab a cheapy composition notebook, some gorgeous scrapbook products that you have on hand, and get to work! Here is what I came up with using the new Pink Paislee pad called "Noel" and the new Heidi Swapp Believe paper pad, a snowflake stencil, some gesso, and a few other tid bits!

Some other things I used are star sequins, Seafoam Color Shine, Pink Paislee label with resist, pinecone, starry vellum that I am currently addicted to, Heidi Swapp trim, K&Company letters, and a Tim Holtz frame and word sticker.

Wouldn't this be such a great prezzie for someone who likes to make lists or journal? Even a doodler!? Love.

Have a wonderful evening and I would love to see what you create!

Be Soulful

Woah it's already Wednesday?! Woohoo for the short work week! ;) I'm sure you've seen the latest craze in altering paint brushes, and that's what our challenge for today was over at the Marion Smith Designs blog. It was so much fun! It was like working with a blank canvas, doing whatever popped into my imagination is what came out onto the brush. Here is what I came up with, using some of the beautiful papers from Marion Smith's shop!

I just love angels, so anytime I can throw a set of wings on something, that's what's gonna happen lol!

Some fussy cut flowers all nestled in from Marion's stunning new Nirvana collection coming out soon!

Wings from Prima Marketing, word stickers from Melody Ross, metal word is a jewelry finding from Michaels,

Hope you like it! I think my girl slid down a little so I was debating on adding a small crown above her, what do you think?

This would be a great swap or a gift for an artsy friend to hang in their studio! Maybe attach a little frame with your picture? Or have your kids decorate their own brush with their picture and hang it in your studio?! Ugh so cute!

I love art! And it's even more awesome when it has a special meaning to it, yes? I put the words "be soulful" to remind me to create things with a purpose, not just for the sake of making something pretty all the time.

Have an amazing artsy day and don't forget to go check out the other stunning brushes from the rest of the design team over at Marion's blog! What a fabulous team!

Love, Rah
