Tropical Heat Wave

Wow I cant believe its Thursday already! This week flew! It was sooooo nice out today! Reallly windy, but thats ok Ill take a gloomy 60 degrees over a sunny 15 below anyday.  So are any of you going to Creative Escape this year? I was really iffy about it, and then I decided to register because it will be the last one. I seriously cannott wait! I had such an amazing time, I cant even tell you. I have so many beautiful pictures from it! Im working on a slide show of them to put on either here or facebook, not sure which yet. But I wanted to share a layout I did of Wendy Senger (owner of Tattered Angels) and myself, taken right after her technique class. It was a blast! I was so excited to meet her! Im not gonna lie, being the not-so-technique-kind-of-girl, I didnt really get into the whole misting thing until right before I went to Creative Escape. I think its safe to say that Im pretty much hooked! Its so much fun! And it would only be right that I misted on a layout with Wendy right?

 I thought the colors of our shirts were pretty together so I wanted to mimmick the colors in the layout. (sick I know.) I bought the new at the time Concord Chalkboard Mist, and oh my gosh it is sooo beautiful and it matched perfectly! The Chalkboard mist is really awesome I love it. This is a really simple layout with a little bling and it was a lot of fun! Some of the supplies I used are;
Patterned Paper & Chandelier Transparency; Teresa Collins
Resist Paper; Stampin Up!
Concord Chalkboard Mist, Silver Sugar Glimmer Mist, Chandelier Glimmer Glam & Crepe Paper;  Tattered Angels
Black Tulle & Rhinestone Trim; Hobby Lobby
Crown Embellishment; Jolees
Letter Stickers; Websters Pages
Black & White Striped Paper; not sure but I got it in the wedding section at Archivers (sorry!)
Other; bead dangly from Michaels

Note; on the first picture it looks like the top border going across is crooked, but its really not in real life I just took a crooked picture :}

Thank you for listening to me blab and have a wonderful Thursday! xoxo

Paper Cakes

Hey hi! How was everyones Valentines Day? Mine was full of sweetness, thats for sure. I told the boys I would take them out for a special treat and do you know what they chose? Shamrock Shakes. Yeah. Anything in the world & thats what they wanted...But in their defense, we dont have a McDonalds or any fast food really in my town so when we get a chance to eat fast food, it's kind of a treat for them. (which is a good thing though because its so bad for you!) So anyway, I wanted to share a project with ya'll, something I love to make! I have a teeny scrap room, so storage is always a challenge for me. I try to think of cute ways to store my goodies to keep it looking like a studio, not a storage closet or something. Sooo I made a paper cake. I cant really tell ya if thats the proper terminology, but I love dessert so it works for me! :} These things are so easy to make and they are so much fun! All you need is the round paper mache boxes and some scrap supplies and youre good to go!

I must say this is one of my favorite things Ive ever made! I llloovvvve this cherry paper from October Afternoon, its one of my faves. So here are some supplies I used;
Paper; October Afternoon & Cosmo Cricket
Stickers; October Afternoon
Rub on Letters; Heidi Swapp
Other; rhinestones, flowers, ribbon, ric-rac, buttons, paper mache boxes

I hope this inspired you to make one, they are fun & easy & inexpensive! So get organized sister!

Have a wonderful evening! xoxo

A Real Love Story

Happy Valentines Day my lovelies! I really love Valentines Day, it's not just a "Hallmark Holiday" to me. I think love is so important in our lives, I dont care how much denial someone is in, everyone needs it. And lets face it-if the world had more of it, itd be a much happier place, yes? So instead of posting something creative, I wanted to share some of my favorite bible verses that deal with this crazy roller coaster emotion. In my studies I have come across some really good ones! (NIV versions)

"Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm. For LOVE is as strong as death, its jealousy as unyielding as the grave. It burns like a blazing fire, like a mighty flame."
Song of Solomon 8:6

Woah. That's what Im talking about.

"Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth; for your LOVE is more delightful than wine."
Song of Solomon 1:2

Especially when you do the dishes...

"Better a meal of vegetables where there is LOVE than a fattened calf (prime-rib medium-rare) with hatred."
Proverbs 15:17

Okkkayy Okkaayy. It didnt say prime rib.  Tomorrows lesson; Gluttony! LOL  Just kidding!

"Greater LOVE has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."
John 15;13

"Dear children, let us not LOVE with words or tongue, but with actions and in truth."
1 John 3:18   (soooo gooood!)

And 2 really important ones that show AGAPE LOVE;

"This is how we know what LOVE is; Jesus Christ laid down his life for us."
1 John 3:16

"But God demonstrates his own LOVE for us in this; while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 5:8

Thats awesome!  To know that even though we are sinners God loves us and made a way for us to spend eternity with Him?!?! Even by His own son having to die for us?!?!  Now that's a real love story!

Have you told God lately that you Love Him?

Love you all! Good night!

Love & Sunshine

Happy Saturday woohoo! Today is going to be a great day! Its bright, sunny, and you can actually feel the warmth of the sun if you put your face up to the window! I cant wait to sit on the front porch swing with a hot cup of Starbucks and a new magazine... aahhh simple pleasures. I wanted to share yet another-you guessed it- Valentines Day card. This time i wanted to shake things up a bit and make it into a heart shape. I know, livin on the edge!

 A few days after Christmas I saw these Martha Stewart rub-ons and I flipped. I had to have them! They are so elegant and beautiful! And as you can see by my blog header, I kind of have an obsession with swirly frames. Some other supplies I used are chipboard frames by Maya Road, Red Stickles, Prima flower, Anna Griffin journal spot, Bazzill ribbon, red german foil scallops (another obsession oh my gosh) from Alpha Stamps, & the flourish stamp by Stampin Up! Another little thing I wanted to share are the felt roses I found at Hobby Lobby in the Valentines section. Arent they pretty? I dont know what Im going to do with them yet but I just felt I needed them at the time!

Thank you for looking and have a wonderful day! Im off to the batting cages with the boys! Ciao!
P.S. If you havent watched the movie Secretariat, go get it- its sooo good!

BLIZZARD 2011

Sooo I guess for once the weather people are right! Its unbelievable how windy it got here, there are shingles all over my yard! The snow drifts go halfway up the apple trees! I will post again with some more blizzard coverage when I have some pix of my yard, but until then here's a layout I did for a My Minds Eye blog challenge. They put a layout sketch on their blog that you have to follow and they pick a winner.  Its neat to see how all these people have the same sketch, but the pages turn out so different. You should try it! So here's mine for last month, the theme was winter. The picture on the page looks kind of dark tho.
These are my boys. I thank God for them a hundred times a day, they are such blessings! Its starting to get real interesting because they are really branching out into their own personalities, and they are starting to use intelligent words and things. Kyle has been cracking me up because he makes up songs now and clicks his tongue in between each line. Here's an example of a song he made up, I swear he'll be cuttin an album soon; "That girls so freaky," (tongue click) "she's so freaky," (tongue click), "that girl's so freaky", (tongue click), "STAY AWAY FROM MEEEEE!!!!!" (ends in a tongue click). I know. Look out American Idol.

Have a great Wednesday and stay toasty! And "stay classy San Diego" lol for all you
Will Ferrell fans....
