The Rialto

Hey peeps! I recently visited one of my favorite places in the world, and I want to share it with you! It's called The Rialto Square Theatre. When I was little we took many a field trips there, and ever since I can remember I have been absolutely mesmerized by the beauty of this place. It is because of my visits here as a child that I am now obsessed with chandeliers. ;) As soon as I walk into this place, my body is consumed with chills.  It's just so beautiful and nostalgic, and you can just feel that there is so much history here. I cant even begin to describe it, but here are some pictures to give you the general idea. By no means will they give the theatre any justice!

Isnt it breathtakingly beautiful?! I love it! I am so thankful to be able to live near a place like this, I dont know why I dont visit more often? Weeiirrrddd.  So I hope you enjoyed my little tour of one of my favorite most magical places in the world.

Can't you just imagine the people pulling up front here, back in the 20's? All dressed up with their suits and dresses and old cars and fancy hats and sparkly broaches?! Do you ever feel like you were born in the wrong era haha ;)

Thanks for stopping by and have an amazing day!

Day Off & A Challenge

Heeyyy! Happy Wednesday! I am soo happy because I took the day off which means it's almost 1130 and Im in my jammies still hahahaha! I loovvee being home during the day I get so much accomplished it's amazing. I played along in this challenge over at The Kraft Journal. I just discovered this blog and it's really cool. The challenge this week is to create a Christmas Gift, so I made a gift card holder.

I stuffed it with a few tags & things, hung some jingle bells to make it festive. I used mostly Making Memories Christmas paper, the Give bingo card is Jenni Bowlin, the little Joy Shared tag is from Authentique, and the silver tinsel trim is Stampin Up.  The kraft pocket is a die from Sizzix.

I love getting gift cards for Christmas! Some people think it's impersonal, but I dont really get to shop for myself alot so when I get a gift card Im like woohoo! ;) So hop on over to their blog and you should play along! Have a great day!

1 day til Thanksgiving?!

Peace Out

Wuttupp! How was your day? Im getting super excited for Thanksgiving! I love the relaxing feel to it, a big juicy ham, thinking about all of our blessings, green bean casserole, spending time with family, pecan tassies, enjoying time off from work, maybe a little tackle football cuz flag football is for sissies right?! Come on dont be a sissy everyone needs a little dirt in their mouth and grass stains on their cheeks every once in a while. Okay so onto another amazing the bestest holiday, Christmas. I really want to make all of my cards this year but I know that is most defenitely pushing it. I really love the vintagey altered art german glass glitter feel on Christmas decorations so Im going to create with this in mind. Here's my first encounter;

I made another one just like it but I used a different collage sheet angel picture.

Do you think they'll like them? Hope so. I need to practice on this style I dont do it very often but I adore it! I am an absolute angel freak, and anything with wings! Love. it. Also I threw some little jingle bells on there. Why? Cuz I like to party.  The little peace banner thing is from the new Melissa Frances Christmas line, cut from the little flashcards.

So there ya have it. Ill try to get a bunch made so I have alot of fun creative things to blog about in December ;) Have a wonderful evening & thanks for stopping by!

Let It Snow, Really?

Hey yall! I seriously cant believe Im going to post about a "Let it Snow ornament, but yes. I am. I cant believe it's the middle of November! I wanted to have all of my Christmas shopping done by now buuuttt we all know how that works out! SSooooo anyway I made this cute little, well, I guess it could be an ornament or something to hang from a little knob.

I love this snowflake die from Sizzix!  Youll see with most of my Christmas goodies I make there will usually be some sort of snowflake somewhere on it. I think they are one of the most amazing things God has created for us! Have you ever been outside playing in the snow, and looked at the snowflakes that had fallen onto your cold little mittens? And did you look at the amazing detail in every little snowflake? They are really too beautiful for words! I used to love playing outside when it was snowing. We had these big sledding hills behind my house and we would sled for hours and hours. Sometimes when I wiped out I would just lay there as still as I could be, watching the snowflakes fall from the sky and I would strrraaiinn my ears to see if I could hear them hit the ground...I love these memories. I wish I still loved winter like I did when I was a kid.  If I had a snowmobile Im sure I would! Sooo if you can work on that,,, that'd be grreeeaaatttt :)
PS my mom fell off a snowmobile when she was 6 months pregnant with me, so to all of you people that were wondering about why Im so weiirrrddd, there ya go.

Have a beautiful evening peeps! Love you all!

Thankful Thursday

Hayy! Can you believe Thanksgiving is only a few days away?! Im going to make some gratitude journals this weekend as gifts to give on Thanksgiving. Everyone is going through some sort of battle these days it seems, and I think it'd be nice to have a place to jot down some daily blessings and joyful things in our daily lives, yes? Even in the worst of days there's always something to be thankful for, if we could just stop and take a deep breath and stop focusing on the bad and really look for something good. Something so silly can be a blessing, like for me lately Ive really been appreciating hot hot showers. As I let the hot steamy water run down my face I pretend it's washing allll of my stress and worries down the drain along with it. It's amazing. I love simple pleasures like that, it makes life wonderful dont ya think? The simple things.

So here's a cute little card I made for the sketch challenge over at the Mojo Monday Blog. I just love the "beautiful" sticker and the floral pattern paper. (For some reason I love taking pretty paper and throwing in a little black & white stripes I think it makes it look whimsical or cool or something?)

These products are by Crate Paper. Love. Them.

Crystal drop from Michaels. Here's the "stickles shot;"

Super simple. You should head on over to Mojo Monday, there are sooo many beautiful entries! Very inspiring. Thanks for hangin out, dahling!

Aunty YaYas Piggies

Hey peeps! How are you on this amazingly wonderful Tuesday? Is it me or is Tuesday like the slowest day of the week? Is today Tuesday even? Ha! Do you ever stop and have to think about what day of the week it is? I actually got to scrap this weekend and I finished this page which actually has a funny story behind it..

This past July my niece was turning 2, so I went shopping for her birthday party presents. (She calls me Aunty Ya Ya ;)  I was in Toys R Us and saw these adorable red & white dotted sandals, had them in my hand, walked around the store for awhile holding them, then put them down bcuz I wasnt sure on her size. Well, it just so happens that I found a pair of red & white dotted sandals for 11 whole dollars somewhere else and bought them for myself (go me!)..I showed up to her partay wearing them and guess what she had on! The exact same pair I was gonna buy for her, my ma beat me to it! Thank goodness I didnt buy them for her! So since we matched and since Im a freak with a camera I had to take a shot of our ever so fashionable piggies and scrap them hello. Are you still with me I mean this is compelling stuff here, folks.  Aunty Ya Ya doesnt freekin mess around.

I love love October Afternoon products, they are amazing. One line is cuter than the next! Some other things I used were my scalloped edge punch by Martha Stewart, the red ruler is from Pink Paislee, scalloped circle die is Spellbinders, and the bakers twine is from Doodlebug.

K Im sleepy so Im gonna hit the hay. Have a wonderful evening!
