Cosmo Cricket Card

Happy Saturday! I just got back from the boys' baseball opening day parade. Phew is it windy! I wanted to share this card with you that I made for this sketch challenge on the Cosmo Cricket Blog. Heres the sketch;

Here's my take on it;

It is just a fun little simple card of something I tell the boys everyday. There's no telling what we are capable of until we try right? What have ya got to lose? So dream big!

 Do you know how hard it was to just pick a few products of Cosmo's to work with for a card? I seriously have like 3 solid inches of  paper from these guys! I lovvvve their products! I ended up just closing my eyes and picking one! lol

So anyway hope you like it and have a beautiful day! Ciao!

Thank You Crate Paper!

Good evening! How was your day? Mine started out pretty dull, but then it got very exciting! A dear lady pointed out to me that a few of my cards were on the Crate Paper Blog yesterday for the CP Readers Gallery. What an honor and a surprise to be showcased with such talented women! I love their products so you could say I was a little excited freekin stoked! :) So I just wanted to say thank you to Crate Paper for having me! Here's a little thank you card I made with some My Minds Eye goodness.

You cant tell I love distressing can you? I swear I put walnut stain ink on just about everything. Dont worry I stopped inking the edges of the boys' brown paper lunch bags the first time they got beat up at school..ok maybe second...;}
Have a wonderful night! Love yas!

He Arose!

Happy Easter! Christ Arose is my son Kyle's favorite hymn so you can imagine his little grin in church today on Resurrection Sunday. It is a great song!  And wow what a beautiful day it was today! The sun was shining, the grass was sooo green, the birds were chirpin! After all this yukky weather we've been having it was defenitely a nice switch, yes? Even more exciting was that it was one of the most important days of the year for us! Jesus Christ our savior is risen! (Luke 24;6, 34). As a mother, I always think about Marys point of view when this was happening. After giving birth to this amazing being, seeing him grow up, knowing he was special, knowing he was here for a specific reason, knowing he was different. Living your life to protect him and to be the best mother you could be, I mean hello, this is Gods only begotten son...no pressure, right? John 3:16 ;) Knowing he was sent to fulfill a purpose. Then one night she learns that he had been arrested for not really any solid reason other than who he said he was...I mean seriously, these people just welcomed Jesus into town a week prior with a huge greeting, celebration in the street, laying down of the palms... He knew though. He already knew the darkness of the heart of man. It says that when he approached the city, he wept over it. Luke 19:41. He actually started to weep.  The thought of him weeping makes me want to weep.  Because he knew after all of the palms were going to be laid down, all of the celebrations of the kings coming that was foretold,  all of the miracles he was about to perform, all of the teachings he was going to share, he was still going to be rejected. The bible says that, "He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him." John 1: 10 & 11. (Also check out Isaiah 53:3). Isnt that sad? But ya know what? There was still hope. The hope. Jesus was not just some ordinary man, he was God incarnate! He was Gods son! He could do anything! (Imagine, he went his whole life without sinning once!) And when all of those big shot law making priests got their robes in a tizzy and arrested, tortured, and crucified Jesus they thought they had won. Satan thought he had won. But in the end, Satan lost. Big time. By Jesus never sinning and never giving up and by resisting temptation and being the amazing powerful being that he is, we have a victory! A resurrection!  We have a saviour that loves us and died for us to give us salvation and make a way for us to be with him forever and its a free gift of Gods grace. Totally free, all we have to do is accept it. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8 & 9. In other words, people do not get to heaven because they think they are "good people" or because they go to church every Sunday or how much money they throw into the offering plate or how many repetetive prayers they say. They get to heaven because they have accepted what Christ did for them on the cross and they have accepted him as their saviour. Jesus said "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Sooo that's what Im going to put my faith in. 100%. I hope you do too!

There were a million things I wanted to include in this post but it took sooo many turns and I could talk about the Lord for hours, so Im sorry if it sounded like I was rambling. Soo Ill close with one of my favorite verses;

If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. Luke 9:23.

Love you all, good night!

Garden Pockets

Hey there! I had such a wonderful day off! I started working on a project with some new product and I had so much fun! (Until my cat decided to sit on it and take a bath...as I was working on it...does anyone else seem to have this problem?) Cant wait to show it to you! Buttttt its not done so Ill show you a few other things. Ive been digging these Making Memories envelopes lately, trying to use them in non-conventional ways. They have different shaped flaps and a ledger design, they are adorable!  The ones I have are from the most recent Christmas collection but I used them as little garden inspired pockets.

These were alot of fun to make! I would like to make a few more and just make it into a garden journal or something. Anyways thanks for hangin for awhile! Gotta go Saturday Night Live is almost on. (When I was a kid I always dreamed about being on that show isnt that weird? :} ) Good night! xoxo

Happy Birthday Dad

Happy Friday! Phew what a week! Sooo glad its the weekend. I could use a break. Tomorrow is my dads birthday so we took him out tonight to an awesome restaraunt. They had some live music going and I ate the most delicious crab cakes Ive ever tasted! I couldve eaten a dozen! He and I used to golf when I was a teenager and we always had such a nice time, even though we werent any good. He would try to use good stance with good posture annnnddd I would just do a running-start-Happy-Gilomore type of thing. Sooo for his birthday I bought him some golf lessons done by a "professional." I am super stoked! Cant wait to go and listen maybe Ill learn something.

In honor of his birthday Im going to show a birthday card I made using some more of the new crate paper products. Now, this obviously isnt my dads bday card because its super girly and pinky, but hey its birthday related nonetheless.

I have a thing with pink roses so of course thats the first thing that I spotted in the die cut sheet was this gorgeous pink rose. I had to make it the focal point of something and a card is usually perfect for that yes?

Well, I cant keep my eyes open any more so I guess Ill hit the hay. Thanks for hangin out and have an amazing Friday evening! Love yall!

Cherries For Sale

Good evening peeps! Wait...a blog post 2 nights in a row?? As Joey Lawrence would say, "Woah!" Soo have any of you seen the new Crate Paper products? Oh my gosh. One is cuter than the next! Well, in their lines there are sheets of cut apart journaling cards that are so cute & fun and I especially like using them on cards. They just add the perfect amount of detail I lovem. One in particular caught my eye that had cherries on it, and it was all over. I had to devote a whole card to this one little journal spot. ;} Annnd this is what I came up with;

Can I just say that this is one of my most favorite things that Ive ever made? Ill admit I was a little intimidated by the wood grain pattern but it adds a nice little country feel yes? Ill share another one tomorrow! Thanks for hangin out guys & have a wonderful evening!

Pure Bliss

Haaayyyy!!!! I got my computer back tonight woot woot! I am so happy that I can blog again Im sure yall forgot about me ;} I have so many fun things to show you! This past weekend was so gorgeous and warm, wasnt it amazing? I cant wait to do fun summer things like bike rides and cookouts and baseball (woohoo!) and goin to the waterpark! I love watching the boys swim and splash around because it means they're going to sleep really well that night they look like theyre having so much fun! I miss the days where we didnt actually have to leave the house for waterslides and things, we could just buy a kiddie pool and they were perfectly content right?I swear waterslides are just silly....youd never catch me on one...

Oh...Ummmm...Yeeeaaaahhhh.....okay okay I freekin love waterslides! I wish I had one in my house! And the sad thing is the boys were thousands of miles away when I went down this one! But you gotta agree with me, they would have been very upset with me if I was at a resort that had a waterslide and I didnt test out the facilities right? Okay then. Lets just say I took one for the team.

 Soooo speaking of water, I did a simple little layout showing Beeb totally in his own little world, soaking up the warm rays, enjoying the cool water...youd never know he was in  a little inflatable pool from BenFranklin would ya?

I love seeing that look on his face; pure bliss :}
I wanted to keep it super simple to leave the focus on the photo. I didnt think there was any need for journaling or words, the look on his face says it all.  I cant believe at one point the background paper was once all white! Its the resist paper from Stampin Up.  I used Tattered Angels glimmer mist, it rocks! I used dragonfly and peacock then covered that with tide pool and mermaid glimmer glam. It is sooo sparkly I love how it turned out and I love how his smile absolutely makes me want to kiss him all over his little face.

Soooo Ill see you again tomorrow I cant believe I have my computah back! I also cant believe Im one of those people that miss their computer when its gone...What is the world coming to? (enter british accent here) Have I gone maaaaddd!?!?!?? (exit british accent here) Anyway good night and have a pleasant tomorrow!
